ultimately civilization will have a hard time continuing if everyone optimizes deeply for aesthetics over substance. the internet deeply rewards the former over the latter.

it’s kinda interesting how much pressure is on openai’s first device to land. apple + jobs were uniquely good at setting expectations & then actually delivering. basically nobody else in consumer hardware has ever pulled that off at that level. also: if anyone at openai wants to send me an early review unit at some point, my dm’s are open 😭
