Today I heard a story from a restaurateur, saying that they sell sweet potato skin and dried tofu on a popular street. A few years ago, tourists would come and eat two portions, one meat and one vegetarian, to try both specialties.
But in the past two years, with just as many tourists on the same popular street, they are now ordering one portion for two people, splitting it in half to share.
It's such a simple little story, yet I can feel the chill in the restaurant industry.
It's really tough out there.
