Le mainnet de NEAR vient de terminer sa mise à niveau de 8 à 9 shards aujourd'hui, améliorant le débit de 12,5 %.
C'était une mise à niveau en direct sans faille et le réseau est resté stable tout au long du processus de mise à niveau. La mise à niveau précédente de 6 à 8 shards était le véritable défi technique, où nous avons mis en œuvre le changement fondamental de resharding et l'avons fait fonctionner avec une validation sans état.
La mise à niveau a été motivée par l'état d'un shard devenant assez grand et nécessitant potentiellement que les producteurs de chunks aient des machines avec plus de mémoire, un problème auquel de nombreuses blockchains sont confrontées. Heureusement, nous pouvons diviser l'état d'un shard en deux grâce au resharding et aborder élégamment le problème de la croissance de l'état.
Nous avons maintenant un chemin très simple pour continuer à ajouter plus de shards et à augmenter la capacité du @NEARProtocol.

L’un des superpouvoirs de @NEARProtocol est son infrastructure de nœuds super légère. La synchronisation d’un validateur de blocs sur le réseau principal NEAR prend 7 minutes et environ 27 $/mois pour l’opération.
Il s’agit de l’un des principaux déverrouillages de la validation sans état de NEAR. La transition d’état à toute épreuve est au cœur de ce qu’est la crypto (les blockchains ne sont finalement que des machines à états). Mais l’État est massif et inefficace à stocker. La validation sans état sur NEAR signifie que les validateurs peuvent prouver qu’une transaction appartenait à l’état précédent sans avoir besoin de maintenir localement l’état complet d’une partition.
Un tas d’avantages de cette conception légère :
-Réduit les exigences devops pour prendre en charge un réseau plus décentralisé
-Réduit les coûts de gaz pour les opérations de stockage en s’assurant que les accès à l’état sont tous en mémoire
-Permet la rotation du validateur sur chaque bloc pour assurer la sécurité

‘Attention Is All You Need’, co-wrote by Illia Polosukhin in 2017, laid the foundation for arguably one of the most consequential tech breakthroughs in our recent history. 1 year later, Illia founded Near AI, which later became @NEARProtocol.
They were visionaries ahead of their time and, although AI took several more years before becoming a viable product, the experience of scaling databases would later prove valuable and applicable in blockchain world.
As a result, @NEARProtocol is one of the first blockchains to implement execution layer sharding, asynchronous execution and stateless validation, bringing the finality time down to 1.2 seconds, with a block time of 0.6 seconds.
