It's indeed a striking irony that the Epstein scandal engulfing Peter Mandelson - and by extension, Keir Starmer's Labour government - has sparked calls for accountability from deep within the party and the media class. Ironic because many of these same folks hand-waved the fact that there were like 200 Jeffrey Epsteins out on the streets preying on young girls from Rotherham to Telford for decades. Yes the grooming gangs involved hundreds of networked perpetrators preying on thousands of underage girls, while Epstein's operation, though vast in victims, centered on one key figure. It's crazy that the former barely scratched the surface of governmental accountability, let alone threatened to topple a regime. If it takes Epstein for people to finally care about abuse and exploitation of underage girls, and for Labour to finally be undone, so be it. This disparity ultimately highlights a grim reality that scandals implicating elite networks and high-profile figures like Mandelson command far more outrage and action than those preying on the working class, especially among those desperate to maintain their delusions about multiculturalism.
