the richer you are, the smaller your portfolio allocation to crypto and the larger your exposure to bonds
as someone stuck in 8 figure hell, i am seeing crypto shrimps 🦐 fully allocated to alts, hardly any bitcoin exposure, below me and rich and successful business owners without even 100k in crypto above me and i am asking myself the difficult question
at what point do i fully swich my investment strategy from "educated gambling to hit the next 100x" to "i have enough to live off a modest 5 - 10% annual gain without the risk of losing a substantial part of my net worth"
we crypto natives have a certain arrogance around us based on the coincidence that we managed to make a lot of money way faster than traditional high performers like consultants or investment bankers. i would attribute my personal financial success to having been open to this new risky asset class and going long without any regard for risk management and being right once or twice
while this worked for me, the same strategy resulted in large financial loss for way more people. i am now looking for two types of investments:
1) i continue to use a small proportion (10 - 20%) of my nw to gamble on the next 100x
2) i use the majority of my money and try to get superior yet realistic yield in the range of 10 - 15%
at some point, once you make it, you need to switch from aggressive growth to capital preservation
