one of the fundamental problems with immigration is simply velocity. when you bring in huge populations faster than culture can absorb you get parallel civilizations rather than assimilation. canada’s a clean example of this. massive inflow of indians but the result is discrete indian enclaves rather than a shared canadian ethos. minnesota is another example. same thing happened to europe & germany. memetic osmosis just takes time. when you flood the zone with ppl, groups tend to default to cultural self preservation. if immigration is deliberate, paced, & curated around common values, you unlock the upside which is talent, trust, belonging, & a coherent civic narrative. but if you rush the whole fucking thing, & the social fabric stops weaving & everyone just builds their own quilt. slow selective immigration = adaptive evolution. mass rapid immigration = societal transition. the latter is not good for anyone.
