When I started investing in hard-tech in 2016 it wasn't popular. I wasn't sure who'd do the next round or how they'd exit. A friend at a16z said "we don't do hardware". A mentor looked at me like I was crazy and said "That's a terrible idea!"
But it always felt inevitable to me.

Young founders are itching to solve problems they actually care about.
Learned after talking to a lot of young founders - young men and women are very aware of the bigger challenges in the world. American dominance and deterrence, food availability, energy needs, access to health etc.
They take up big tech jobs for few years often to get some financial freedom to then work on startups they actually care about.
I am excited for them to spark the next-gen tech revolutions the physical world.
