The Epstein conversation has turned completely upside down. The only person, outside of Epstein, we know for sure helped traffic young girls and violated at least some of them is Ghislaine Maxwell.
She’s also lied numerous times about her role and what she knew, which even led to a perjury charge at one point. Her sentencing even noted the fact that she keeps lying.
She is not a victim or a reliable witness.

On the issue of famine and aid in Gaza: I’m going to set aside my feelings about Peter Beinart for a moment and focus on the substance, as he makes an inadvertent yet important admission that highlights how backward and dishonest this discussion has become. I appreciate @ScottJenningsKY trying to address it, but the format doesn’t allow for the full truth.
First, let’s consider how things operated in Gaza before October 7: International organizations and the media were permitted to operate only if they complied with Hamas’s demands. For the UN and other international groups, this meant appointing Hamas officials to senior local positions and allowing them to divert or steal much of the aid (how else did Hamas leaders become billionaires without building up the Hamas economy?). For international media, it meant limiting reporting to narratives Hamas approved, as documented by former AP reporter Matti Friedman.
This structure remains true post-October 7, except for a few brave Palestinian journalists, who are then targeted for torture, beatings, and death by Hamas—a fact few recognize. There's a reason the names that have become famous from Gaza aren't people like Ihab Fasfous. This is critical to understanding what is actually happening.
The revealing point Beinart raises is the ICC issuing arrest warrants “for the war crime of starvation” last year. He raises it to suggest the situation has continuity, but it really serves to highlight how the situation has been manipulated to where narratives have become more important than facts.
The warrants were requested by an anti-Israel prosecutor credibly accused of sexual assault by an anti-Israel colleague, who then tried using the warrants to cover his misconduct:
At the time, Israel, under U.S. pressure, facilitated the entry of more aid per capita into Gaza than any modern war zone:
The IPC’s reports confirmed no famine existed at the time, and the food insecurity in northern Gaza stemmed from distribution issues, not a lack of incoming aid:
Those who promoted the charges, including Beinart, relied on selective statements from ministers rather than the substantive reality of how the war was conducted, justifying a flawed court case.
Since the war began, aid has become Hamas’s primary income source. They require international organizations to operate in ways that benefit them, using aid to recruit and pay fighters, prolonging the war, and making a permanent deal with Hamas where they give up control less likely. This involves not just “stealing” aid (often handed over) but having affiliates resell much of it, intended for desperate Palestinian civilians. This is well-documented:
Recent events also confirm it. After Israel cut off the current aid system, pushing for one Hamas doesn’t control, Hamas has gone broke, unable to fund its war effort:
This explains their panic and attacks on GHF, as well as their demand to restore the old system in ceasefire talks.
This doesn’t mean Palestinian civilians aren’t suffering or that the situation hasn’t worsened recently. GHF wasn’t meant as a standalone solution but to coordinate with agencies like the UN, which have established distribution networks. However, these groups, especially the UN, refuse to participate despite aid sitting at the border:
This isn’t due to Israel blocking aid, but rather to its inadequate distribution. The UN allows starvation to worsen by choice, citing security risks from Israel’s demand to distribute to specific locations (e.g., community kitchens), yet they reject Israeli offers to provide security
This contradiction has been challenged before, and the UN can’t explain it:
That’s because the UN can’t admit the truth: They prioritize returning to a system where they bribe Hamas with aid in exchange for protection over the need to help Palestinians who need it now.
Israel remains responsible for preventing catastrophe in Gaza, even if the UN’s priorities are misaligned, possibly requiring concessions like allowing Hamas a portion of aid temporarily. However, those loudest about starvation, including Beinart, have cried wolf in the past and still refuse to assign responsibility to those creating these conditions.

Beinart: The blood is on our hands as Americans because it is our weapons that is responsible for those children starving to death.
Jennings: No blood for the hands of Hamas.
Beinart: One of my closest friends was blown up by hamas. I have probably a lot more experience with suffering from hamas, with all due respect than you do.
Let's say this if we want to see who is more to blame for the starvation of children in Gaza. Let CNN in. Israel has not allowed western journalists in since October 7th. Let them go in, let CNN go in and decide for themselves. How about that?

Out of fear of public opinion, Israel tried to claim that the delegation’s return didn’t signal a breakdown. But Witkoff told the simple truth: there’s no one to talk to.
And one might add: the road to hell is paved with good intentions. All the pressure on Israel to keep compromising only led Hamas to harden its stance further.

Hamas and Israel were about to reach a ceasefire. Then 24 Western countries called on Israel to implement an immediate and thus unilateral ceasefire. Hamas, welcoming such implicit support, backed away from things it had agreed to. Just another example of the West prolonging the war.
