crypto natives call it tokens, coins, crypto. tradfi/fintech calls digital assets. which term wins long term? "crypto" = grassroots, builder energy, community first. "digital assets" = institutional, compliant, capital ready. I think "digital assets" wins for mass adoption and regulation. "crypto" stays alive in the culture. we'll end up code switching. tradfi meetings? digital assets. builder convos? crypto. the question isn't which is better, it's whether we lose something important when we sanitize the language to get institutional buy-in.
