If I had to only give one piece of advice to parents this would be it. It could save your child’s life. A decade ago my 3 year old had breathing issues. They kept getting misdiagnosed with asthma. Their lips would turn purple and nothing helped. We were always in the ER. Then we found an amazing pediatrician who actually cared and actually listened. After hours of talking and research he referred us to a hospital to get them tested for pulmonary hypertension. It’s an incredibly rare disease almost never seen in kids. He was right. All of that research and care by our pediatrician likely saved a life. A decade later (last week) we had another child with adhd symptoms. We took them to the same doctor and he spent 45 minutes asking them questions. What are your goals? What excites you? What’s your diet like? He didn’t just rush to prescribe pills. He lovingly coached them, and suggested another ADHD coach as well. So what’s my advice? Do everything in your power to find a top 1% pediatrician for your children.
