My first patent got granted in both the US and India. I started working on this one in 2016, as a computer vision intern at HERE (owned by BMW). I had no idea what I was doing, and somehow ended up co-inventing something that actually got filed. That internship is honestly what got me into AI and ML. Everything after that traces back to it. Big thank you to Abhilshit Soni, my mentor and co-inventor at the time. Couldn't have done this without him. For anyone who has been through this process: getting a patent granted in India is significantly harder than in the US. So having both come through feels like a double win.
