INTRODUCING: PVP LOBBIES ON FANTASY PVP Lobbies enter beta access this Thursday and we're bootstrapping the launch with a $10,000 prize pool sponsorship from the company treasury. This thread breaks down how Lobbies work, why we built them, and what this means for the future of Fantasy 👇
HOW LOBBIES WORK Lobbies are PVP competitions where each lobby has its own unique ruleset: rarity requirements, duration, star ratings, payout structures, FAN points gating, and a maximum number of entries per lobby. Your cards work across all of them; enter as many lobbies as you want, reusing the same cards across different competitions. This means more utility for every card in your collection, not less.
THE $10,000 SPONSORSHIP To bootstrap the beta, we're injecting $10,000 into boosted lobby rewards. Here's how it works: the $10,000 is distributed through FRAG, which is bought back from the marketplace floor using the company treasury. This FRAG is then injected into lobby prize pools. The $10,000 will be distributed progressively over time. This is not a one-time airdrop, but ongoing boosts to help establish the player base during beta.
THE SELF-SUSTAINING MODEL Players pay to enter a lobby, those entry fees form the prize pool, winners take the pot. The competition sustains itself through participation rather than continuous rewards being injected from the outside. Lobbies sustain themselves through player participation alone.
DESIGNED FOR EVERYONE One of the biggest lessons from traditional fantasy: free competitions bring people in, paid competitions keep them engaged. Lobbies support both. Learn the game without risking anything, then graduate to higher stakes when you're ready. There's a lobby for every experience level and bankroll.
MORE UTILITY FOR YOUR CARDS Lobbies offer more utility for cards and a wider range of competitive experiences than any previous game mode. Different star requirements, different durations, different entry fees, different payout structures. Find the lobbies where your cards have an edge and your bankroll feels comfortable.
WHAT'S NEXT FOR LOBBIES Two major features in development: 1. Create your own lobby: this will be released through a gated beta based on FAN points holdings, letting committed players host competitions with custom rules. 2. USDC will be integrated over time, expanding beyond FRAG for entry fees and payouts.
HOW LOBBIES COMPLEMENT CORE Lobbies are designed to work alongside Core, offering more utility for your cards and a wider variety of competitive experiences. We want to be transparent about the road ahead: Core currently distributes 21 ETH weekly in tournament rewards plus FRAG emissions, with roughly 21 weeks of runway remaining. Lobbies provide a path forward. When Core rewards wind down, competitive play continues through a sustainable model.
THE LONG-TERM VISION The integration of USDC lobbies, alongside the reduction of FRAG emissions to zero, will give players an EV-neutral playing field without inflation. Currently, revenue from trading fees and pack sales flows into the rewards treasury. Once Core tournaments conclude, that revenue will pivot to 100% continuous card buyback and burn.
PVP LOBBIES & CORE UPDATE TLDR • Lobbies enter beta this Thursday with $10,000 in boosted rewards • Prize pools are funded by player entry fees • Core tournaments have 21 weeks of rewards remaining • Once Core concludes, Lobbies become the home for competitive play • All game revenue will shift to 100% card buyback and burn
Competitive Fantasy isn't going anywhere. It's evolving. It's the same cards, same community, same drive to compete. Built on a model that can sustain itself without requiring a treasury that constantly needs refilling or emissions that never stop. Beta access opens Thursday
