What all actual data shows is that women instinctively protect their own children, and basically nobody else - although that instinct can be transferred. The upper cadres of men protect everybody. The bottom cadre of men, plus external rivals and broken/crazy women, are the predators.

This isn't half assed "benevolent sexism," btw. Pretty much every study ever done shows that citizen women fight like lion(esse)s for their own families, but the huge majority of general heroes - soldiers, cops, firemen, disaster rescue volunteers (a thing I have done), 3rd world aid workers, etc are guys. Even basic defensive uses of weapons to help your squad and others are 70+% male. There seems no reason at all not to acknowledge this except for general dislike of the boys. On the FLIP, like I said, 70-80% of low-level violent criminals in a typical year are also men from the "scum" cadres. Life is complicated.
