SpaceX was the first major investment I made when I finally got liquidity. In 2017, the first outside board member gave me a chance to invest, and over the month before it closed, I kept increasing my commitment until it was almost 10% of my net worth. I liked the risk/reward profile so much, I told almost everyone I saw that month to invest. I even ran into a childhood friend at a coffee shop on his birthday and told him his birthday gift should be investing in the SpaceX vehicle. He did. I included many of my childhood friends and family. It’s going to change their lives. @elonmusk is one of the greatest stewards of capital in history, likely the greatest at this scale. First principles thinking. Efficient with capital, raises minimally dilutive rounds, and buys back stock when appropriate. He does things founders at this scale aren’t supposed to be able to do. I’ve been fortunate to make meaningful investments in several of his companies throughout the years… and he has absolutely no idea I even exist. 😂🚀🙏
