Issues get opened, issues get discussed, issues get closed.
But issues also stall, and stalled issues are of particular interest to me.
Stalled issues had activity — typically conversations and comments — but then crickets for a few days. Essentially there was heat, and now things have cooled.
This either means something was resolved (but not marked as such), someone had to look into something (but no report back yet), or things were just left up in the air "to deal with later".
Whatever it is, it's important to know what's stalled. You want to bump into these things and say "Oh, what's up here?"
In Fizzy, we float a bubble up next to the stalled issue, calling out how long it's been stalled. You'll see an example below — the fonts issue has stalled out.
It's not the system's job to decide how to deal with it in the short term — that's a human's job. But the system can flag it visually so it grabs a human's attention.
From there someone can inquire, and do what needs to be done, or the system will eventually push it off the list after a set period of time. Nothing gets to stick around forever. In Fizzy, ignored things get out of the way — mirroring the actual world they live in.
It's been a while since I recorded a Fizzy video. Will record one next week, sharing lots of progress.
