LPing vs. Buy & Hold: which one is better? With @BrownFidex V1 preparing to sunset and transition to a more stable V2, I'd like to review my V1 performance over 60 days of LPing. You can follow my experiment here: 1⃣ Comparing LPing with Buy and Hold (BnH) Strategy I staked 826.6 $BERA and 121.7 $HONEY into BrownFi. After 60 days, my LPing portfolio grew to 1,105 BERA and 388 HONEY. This clearly states that LPing with highly concentrated liquidity capability of BrownFi outperformed a simple BnH strategy. My profits amounted to 278.4 BERA ( 33.6% increase in quantity) and 266.3 HONEY (118.8% increase in quantity) over the 60-day period. I also created a chart comparing the performance of both strategies. You can clearly see that BnH (red dashed line) is linearly exposed to BERA price (orange line) because its delta remains constant. In contrast, the LPing behaves quite differently relative to BERA price. The discrepancy between these two strategies represents the Net PnL (green line), which you can see increasing over time. 2⃣Comparing in USD value From USD perspective, BERA price dropped dramatically for nearly 40 days after I started LPing, losing almost 50% of its value (from $3.24 on May 22 down to $1.72 on July 1). If I simply used BnH , my portfolio would have been worth $1,819.6 (-44.87%). In contrast, my LPing was valued at $2,333.34 (only -16.67% decline). Today, with BERA price recovered to $2.36, my LPing has reached breakeven and gained +6.82%, totaling $2,990.97. Meanwhile, my BnH would still be down -26.11% at $2,068.86 compared to my initial fund. This states that LPing provides better protection against portfolio decline than simply holding assets in my wallet even in USD value. I have double-checked with 02 other LPs, and they confirmed the same outcomes.
