Many express disapproval of my relying heavily on MetaCritic evals. They say I should instead rely on associates & reviewers I encounter mostly by chance. This seems an individualism norm; not only should I lean into natural differences, but I should try to create more of them.

I've changed my mind on why modernity switched from ritual to sincere ways to describe ideals. I now guess that its due to our learning to better describe and understand human interiors.

A puzzle: most think rates of loan default & marriage divorce would increase if we had to explicitly reaffirm our loans and marriages annually, with failure to do so interpreted as a declaration of default/divorce.

This was surprisingly good:

Imagine that when people took out long term loans (eg for cars or houses), every year they had to sign again saying that they will repay the loan. Would this cut loan repayment rates?

Should married people be required to either re-pledge their wedding vows once a year on their wedding anniversary, or to request a divorce?
