As a Chelsea fan, I really feel increasingly exhausted about this situation lately. Honestly, stop thinking about some miraculous Champions League finish at the end of the season; the top four spots are basically no longer related to the Blues. In fact, ever since Maresca left the managerial position, the last bit of spirit for this season has been drained away. There are only 7 matches left, but just look at the current state of the team. Forget about fighting for points; it’s like they’re collectively sleepwalking on the pitch. Can we really expect such a state to suddenly make a 180-degree turnaround at the end of the season? If I had even a little bit of spare cash right now, I would definitely bet on "Chelsea missing out on the top four" without hesitation. Although it sounds a bit harsh, that 20% expected return is honestly much more reliable than the performance of those players on the field. Perhaps this is the last bit of "hedging" for us as Blues fans in the face of harsh reality. After all, watching football is meant to be enjoyable, but at this critical moment, logic and the wallet are clearly more honest than sentiment. How about you? Are you still planning to pay for those elusive fantasies?
