How are congressional incumbents doing tonight? Only one projected loser so far of the six who entered this primary in clear danger. Here's a look at what's happening using DDHQ's Votes election data portal:
Rep. Dan Crenshaw is projected to lose to state Rep. Steve Toth in the #TX02 GOP primary. It's not close, either. Crenshaw is officially the first incumbent to lose renomination in the 2026 cycle.
Rep. Julie Johnson trails former Rep. Colin Allred in the #TX33 Dem primary. The 3rd- & 4th-place candidates have 20.5%, so this could go to a runoff
Under a cloud of scandal, Rep. Tony Gonzales has survived in the #TX23 GOP primary, at least for now. DDHQ projects that he will go to a runoff vs. Brandon Herrera, whom Gonzales narrowly defeated in a runoff in 2024.
Rep. Valerie Foushee leads Durham County Commissioner Nida Allam by about 1 percentage point in #NC04. Foushee looks favored to juuuust hold on.
Sen. John Cornyn is headed to a runoff against Attorney General Ken Paxton in the #TXSen GOP nomination race. Cornyn continues to narrowly lead, though Paxton has been narrowing his edge.
In an incumbent vs incumbent race, Christian Menefee only narrowly leads Al Green in the Democratic primary in the redrawn, dark-blue #TX18.
