In light of the current situation, Dubai Police have detected scammers exploiting recent developments by impersonating employees of the "Crisis Management Department in Dubai," claiming to be affiliated with Dubai Police, with the aim of stealing digital identity data (UAE Pass) and the Emirates ID (EID). Dubai Police confirm that sharing this data could enable scammers to carry out SIM Swap operations and take control of bank accounts through banking applications. Dubai Police also confirm that they do not request any confidential data or verification codes via phone or messages, and urge the public not to share their personal or banking information with any untrusted entity, and to immediately report any attempted fraud through official channels by calling 901 or through the ecrime platform for electronic crime reports.
