Interesting thought experiment:
Let's run with the assumption that AI makes creating software ridiculously fast + cheap, and quality doesn't suffer (I know, I know, but let's assume)
What would this mean for software businesses?
Would eg they all expand scope w new products?
Take the hypothetical example of eg a project management software vendor with 500 devs.
If AI makes all of them more productive and ~250 can do the same work as now: would the other 250 eg build an observability + paging tool to expand the business - years before it was planned?
Or if they did not do this - but say, cut 250 people to further increase profits - could they suddenly be under threat by all the other observability vendors that now built project management tooling, integrated into their offering?
