This new image is Hubble's sharpest look at NGC 7722 yet, highlighting the long lanes of dark red dust that coil around this galaxy's outer disk and halo. Astronomers think these distinctive dust lanes are the result of a past merger with another galaxy! Located about 187 million light-years away, NGC 7722 resides in the constellation Pegasus.
