My view of the Fed chair nomination is that it really doesn't matter... 1. The Fed has lacked the tools to solve the problems its facing for years and will continue to 2. Trump was never going to pick someone who isn't telling him exactly what he wants to hear 3. None of the candidates are going to cut as much as Trump wants once they get into the role 4. No one knows how the nominee will act once he gets the role vs. what he has promised Trump, but they're all elite Wall Street people so we can guess when push comes to shove - bailout their friends, partners and wealth Late last year on @ForwardGuidance I said the question everyone should be trying to answer is not who the next chair will be but when Trump will first publicly attack/pressure them. What ails the bond market is not currently curable by any individual Fed chair.
