Been playing around with Claude Code, trying to get into the habit of noticing software-shaped problems in my life that I can remove.
So far, I’ve
- had it build a python pipeline that takes in my stripe payments, check the date and convert it to danish crowns with the right conversion rate for that day, and then compile a report for my taxes (which took about 30 mins to make, and will save me about 4 days a year + be of higher quality than what I could do manually)
- gone through my entire catalog on the blog to flag all comments that I need to moderate
- made a simple browser extension which cross posts my substack notes to twitter
- built a simple pipeline that have processed a few hundred conversations I’ve recorded and added keywords etc that make them skimmable and readable
I find it hard to fully internalize that the cost of simple software is now ~0. I feel like a toddler who don’t know how to handle this tool for what it’s worth, but it feels good to get into the habit of removing small problems like this, and building things that let me do thing I couldn’t before. I’d very much appreciate to hear what others are making + any advice on how to get better at noticing good ideas that I can turn into code.
