I don’t understand how PR and Comms teams at many modern tech companies are beyond terrible. Cancelled a scheduled podcast after the Comms team where this individual works asked what I’d ask, showed them (why not), then they requested I not ask half the questions. WTH?

The one exception to all of this is @lulumeservey - who is the refreshing exception advocating for people in tech to stop hiding behind clueless comms teams who do more damage than good (wanting to create a “perfect” brand)

Irony in all this is the person who I would have had on (a very experienced and respected professional) had no idea this is what the Comms team is doing. Outraged as well - they want to talk about all the stuff. Plan B is we do it without mentioning the company they work at at all.
