It's come up lately, so I just want to clear the air: I mute people here liberally. If you've ever gotten on my nerves enough to make me wonder if my life is better without knowing about your existence, I've muted you. Generally, once muted, I do actually forget about you.

Now that I think about it, there are only... three people I've ever unmuted. One of them is back on mute. I have an unusual mind, and my object permanence is fairly broken. I really will forget about you if I mute you. In most cases, it won't even be hard.

I don't keep tabs on if my friends are interacting with people I mute, and it doesn't come up if I have them muted anyway. I've never asked anyone to take sides, and I'd never be mad at anyone for fraternizing with "other sides" I'm sensitive, but in weirder more neurotic ways.
