Training awareness = training freedom The formation of karma is the result of whether attention and thoughts are used properly. I want to share a good training insight: we generate millions of thoughts every day. When you want to focus on something, thoughts will jump out to disturb you. In that moment, do not resist; quietly observe them as they appear, like watching a movie, without judgment or pursuit, just patiently waiting for them to naturally dissipate. This practice of awareness will allow your attention to return time and again, gradually becoming stable and strong. In Buddhism, breathing meditation is often used for training, focusing attention on the breath, inhaling and exhaling. When thoughts arise, notice them, observe them, find them uninteresting, let them disappear, and return to the breath, repeating this cycle. You will slowly come to realize that thoughts are all "empty," and thus you will not be bound by them. In fact, being aware of thoughts is a game worth delving into. Behind every thought may lie an unrecognized need. Those seemingly "dark" thoughts—such as vanity, jealousy, or arrogance—are merely the unacknowledged wounds whispering: Vanity may stem from a fear of not being recognized; Jealousy is the inner child longing for attention from others; Arrogance often masks an unaccepted self, using inflation to cover insecurity. If you are willing to delve into the depths, confront these needs, and learn to give yourself acceptance and love, those entangled thoughts will naturally loosen. You will not only no longer be controlled by them but will also grow a gentle yet solid peace from within. Forcing suppression is never true freedom. Relaxation is the unity of inner and outer, the consistency of heart and mouth, it is the letting go and ease that comes after awareness.
