Once upon a time, the French and English were at each other’s throats with proper wars - Agincourt, Waterloo, etc. They hurled armies across the Channel, burned villages, and fired cannons and insults so sharp that it inspired entire genres of the literary arts. Now? Their mutual loathing is reduced to lobbing migrants at each other on rubber dinghies. Basically an endless game of migrant ping-pong across the channel.
