How to win BIG in @fantasy_top_ Arena (previously known as tactics).
1. Arena is the most +EV format we've experienced yet. You need 0 cards to play. It's a phantom draft.
A) it runs parallel to the Core tournaments, which means we have a bigger length of time for heroes to post/it's harder for a hero to score 0.
B) @ParallelTCG is a sponsor for both the top 10 heroes who post about Parallel (from FT's Clout mindshare leaderboard) and the top 700 decks from the tournament, paying out $PRIME.
Shout out to @ParallelAiRev for the hero/player/sponsor work.
C) Because of the sponsored prize pool and generous rake structure, this first tournament has $21,500 in prizes. With there being capped at 3,333 decks ($16,665), if you ignore rake it's a bonus 30% overlay!
D) With the top 30% ITM (and 500x payout to 1st), the EV is $6.45 per $5 ticket. Amazing!
2. Because Arena has a massive multiple to 1st place, and 1 out of every 3 decks make the money, it is a game that will favor volume and proper sample size players.
At $5 entry, my recommendation for any seasoned FT player is to buy a pack of 26 tickets for the $125 ($4.80 per ticket is a nice rakeback). Then use all of those 26 tickets in this first Arena.
That $125 is similar cost to a Bronze deck. Take the 26 chances this week.
In past tactics, I targeted a 20% ROI over a proper sample size. In Arena with this format (30% ITM, 500x to 1st place, with sponsor bonus prizes), I believe 40% ROI is sustainable over hundreds of decks.
Here's my past tactics performance over what I consider a proper sample size of almost 500 decks. It feels good to have never gone in the red.
3. Alright, you've just bought your pack of 26 tickets. How do you play to win?
After looking through all the heroes, here's some of my starting conclusions.
A) A few of the 1 and 2⭐️Parallel exclusive heroes may surprise us this week and go off. But we don't need to take that risk in most decks.
