People don't believe conspiracy theories because they're crazy. People go crazy because they begin to value the game of challenging narratives more than they value truth, and they end up believing every theory no matter how false and incoherent, until they lose grip on reality. What saddens me is that so many, including myself, got into conspiracy theories because we wanted truth, valued it, and suspected we were being deceived. But so many get so addicted to the feeling of tearing down a narrative they stop caring about the truth. That rejection of truth is what brings insanity.
