I wrote a piece admitting that, yes, Substack is a social media app. But it’s also more than that. The world might not need another social app but it does need better civil infrastructure for online media, built with society’s long-term wellbeing in mind.

That’s what we’re building at Substack. A better system, not just a feed. We believe this better way will prevail because it gives more power to creators and more agency to consumers.

Either that, or it’s gonna be AI vibe feeds all the way down…
