AHHHH City Planning is unilaterally raising fees for every application type (not typical yearly inflation increases) - but one of the only ones they are keeping the same is the laughably low $229 appeal fee for "any aggrieved person" in the city to appeal housing:
Warner Center progress report - wild how many years each developer had to spend *after* city planning approvals in LADBS plan check/dealing with LA’s dozen+ departments clearances:
any random person can delay most apartment approvals for months in LA… fixing the ungodly cheap entry fee is most obvious two-birds solution we have (housing+city fiscal crisis) and we STILL won’t do it!
Missed this story last week. LA City recommended raising housing appeal fees to $22k to cover staff time and deter frivolous appeals, but the City Council just raised the fees to $229.
LA City Council is always working to make NIMBYs' lives easier. Sigh.
