I spent the entire weekend in London, visiting Art Galleries and some 'Toy' stores for my kids.
What stood out most was seeing the level of footfall and spend taking place in the toy stores - these toys compared to Chimpers blind boxes cost more and in reality gave nothing more in return.
Nonethelessn, it reminded me of a post @PunkHot10 shared with the top 25 legacy franchises. Combined, they have grossed $926B+ over time (see chart below).
Whereas, the entire NFT market cap today sits around $6.7B.
If one Web3-born IP captured just 1% of that legacy franchise value, they’d already be worth more than the whole ETH NFT market!
This is why pivoting to Web2 makes sense.
