the thing about hot takes is they’re performative and silo’d or incomplete statements an honest take about CT is that it’s always been a mixture of separately evolving dynamics, each constantly going through their own shifts, filled with good and bad outcomes the truth is that it’s the digital realisation of a capital city for crypto. tech has sf, finance new york, entertainment la the internet - combined with new age opportunism and global access to [the tools/ tech which reduce-cost the barriers to access], travel and nomad as a sector evolving, innate propensity for connection, many other separate factors intertwining - has reduced physicality as a part of the definition of proximity the social internet is akin to the formation of society driven by the same underlying human traits as ever but without the necessary constraints of first framework (and without starting from 0). physical proximity diminishing as a defining factor for network effects that underpin society is an all-encompassing phenomenon, and CT is the where this has played out most of all, and with most connection to all other amalgamations of same phenomenon crypto; the internet financial system (and parallel to the internet, without need for central arbiter/ state). you [may benefit from but] don’t need to be in America to build, have access, have financial freedom, have sovereignty etc. crypto as a system is like the America of the internet, as an industry is like the SF of the internet, CT is like the NYC of the internet - the capital city of digital network effects and internet money all social network platforms have diminished away from being effective rails, and yet the underlying factors on the human layer are so strong that this is still true. but humans filter away from the “public square”~ and adapt within more personal infra. once the clubs and parks get shit people just use their own houses and gardens to meet there are several separate conversations to have and the overall truth is an equation of every separate truth
