OKX has integrated Chainlink Data Streams on X Layer mainnet to unlock the $80 trillion tokenized RWA opportunity. With Data Streams, developers on X Layer now have access to high-speed market data for building AI-driven DeFi applications, perpetuals, and real-world asset protocols.

Now Available on X Layer

Chainlink Data Streams is a low-latency, pull-based oracle solution that delivers high-frequency market data on demand rather than on a schedule. Applications fetch the precise price they need at the exact moment they need it, which makes it well-suited to time-sensitive execution: derivatives protocols, automated trading strategies, and AI agents acting autonomously on current market conditions.

The integration brings three categories of data to X Layer developers: 24/5 equities streams covering major US stocks including TSLA, NVDA, and AAPL; tokenized treasury pricing for collateral management and yield products; and commodities data for gold and silver. Developers can now build financial applications that reference real-world asset prices directly onchain, without introducing the latency or trust assumptions of off-chain data pipelines.

What Developers Can Build

With Data Streams live on X Layer, the practical use cases span several categories.

Perpetuals and derivatives protocols gain accurate, high-frequency feeds that support tighter liquidation thresholds and more capital-efficient margin systems. Agentic trading applications can give AI agents real-time data across equities, commodities, and crypto to support autonomous portfolio management and execution. RWA-backed protocols can reference live equity and treasury prices for collateral valuation, yield calculation, and automated rebalancing. Automated risk management systems can trigger reliably on precise price conditions rather than waiting for the next scheduled oracle update.

The Infrastructure Behind It

Chainlink has enabled over $30 trillion in transaction value and currently secures more than 70% of DeFi. X Layer is a ZK Layer-2 network and a Chainlink Scale member, a programme that ensures sustainable oracle operations on high-growth chains by subsidising costs during early ecosystem development. The Scale designation reflects a longer-term infrastructure commitment to X Layer rather than a point-in-time integration.
