Dear reader, I arrived at the airport 3 hours & 40 minutes before my flight. I ran up to the gate—no exaggeration—as they were about to give my seat away (on the last flight out). People shouldn’t have to deal with this nonsense for the privilege of getting home.

There is no good reason why airport security shouldn’t be heavily privatized. A few airports in the U.S. already do it—including San Francisco—without issue. People shouldn’t be held hostage when our lawmakers can’t agree on a spending bill.
