One parameter from the 🎈 we pay close attention to is the 850mb level (~5k ft). We can use that temp as a proxy for surface temperature potential (how hot or cold we could get). This week, we've been using it for extreme heat. This AM's 850mb 🌡️ was an incredible 23.4°C! (2/3)

Not only does that break the all-time monthly 850mb record for March (which was just set earlier this week!), but it also beats the record for April, too. It's just one more way to put the sheer scale of this heat wave into context beyond just surface climate sites. (3/3) #cawx
