Gaining/losing weight isn’t always as simple as the math implies. Annoys me when people say otherwise. Simple math is, all else equal, you add 500 calories a day to your diet and you’ll gain a pound or so a week. I’m 5’9 150 (starting weight). I eat the exact same thing every day. > Added 500 Cal a day in June (oatmeal, granola, fruit) >Added an additional 500 a day in September (almonds, protein shake) > +1,000 calories per day at that point. Ended the year at 5’9 150 I’m sure I would gain eventually if I just kept adding, but the math doesn’t line up.
