Is there really hope for cancer? 🤔
Recently, a podcast conversation between Mel Gibson and Joe Rogan has gone viral online.
They mentioned three friends with terminal cancer who were completely cured by taking "ivermectin" and "fenbendazole" (anti-parasitic drugs).
I instinctively asked GPT, and it said there is some basis for this, but more data and evidence are needed 🧵👇
🔍 Truth 1: This is not baseless pseudoscience. In the medical field, "drug repurposing" has always been a legitimate area of research.
Indeed, there are hundreds of peer-reviewed articles indicating that these two drugs have shown various anti-cancer mechanisms, such as inhibiting cancer cell proliferation and interfering with microtubules, in 【in vitro experiments】 (petri dishes) and 【animal models】.
⚠️ Truth 2: Petri dishes ≠ humans. There are thousands of substances that can kill cancer cells in the lab (even including high concentrations of saline), but in the human body, drugs need precise absorption concentrations and metabolic targeting.
The rigorous fact is: currently, there are no large-scale, randomized controlled clinical trials proving that these two drugs can cure advanced cancer in humans.
🤔 Truth 3: Even if what old Deng said is true, it is an exception; there is currently no large-scale data experiment or related evidence, but I believe there will be in the future, and humanity will definitely overcome cancer.
