Hai Zi and Gu Cheng are not on the same level as poets. Hai Zi possesses linguistic creativity, able to create a mirrored world through words; his poetry contains a divine self and a tension that transcends the human realm. Gu Cheng is more like a child who hasn't grown up, focused on his own keen emotions, yet lacking a sufficiently large love and attention for the world. Hai Zi is a philosophical poet akin to Hölderlin, Rilke, and Li Bai, using poetry as a medium for transcendent expression; Gu Cheng, in the present, is more at the level of a literary youth, with good lines but lacking deeper insight.
