[NEWS] Automakers tariff bill hit $35B, and it’s still rising: Full-year 2025 financials show the damage is widespread, and J.P. Morgan projects it climbs significantly from here. Toyota took the biggest single hit at ¥1.45 trillion ($9.1 billion) for its 2026 fiscal year. The Detroit Three (GM, Ford, Stellantis) absorbed $6.5 billion in tariff costs in 2025. And BMW, Honda, Hyundai-Kia, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Subaru, and VW each crossed $1 billion. Looking ahead: Costs are projected to rise to $45 billion in year two, $52 billion in year three with automakers and consumers expected to split the burden, driving ~3% new-vehicle price inflation.
