little known fact about St Patrick is that he actually wasn’t irish, but roman-british in fact, he was captured by the irish and enslaved by them for years. he escaped miraculously after having a vision/dream of a boat on the coast that would rescue him (and walked 200 miles to the coast - and found it) after escaping, he wound up going BACK to ireland and dedicating the rest of his life to converting the pagans who had enslaved him, with extraordinary success. he is basically single handedly responsible for turning ireland into a catholic country. happy st patrick’s! ☘️
