Elon Musk tweeted early this morning, praising a 17-year-old Chinese high school student for a paper published through Kimi (The Dark Side of the Moon). While marveling at this prodigy and the potential of youth, I discovered that this high school student, Chen Guangyu, is currently attending a school called Moonshot Academy. It is a full-time school founded by a post-95er—Jason Wang. The school was established in 2017. Since I am also a post-95er, I am quite sensitive to this timeline; I was still in my junior year in 2017, so how did he manage to start a school? Upon further inspection, I found that Jason Wang's education stopped at high school—he graduated from Beijing 101 High School. Yes, he did not attend university. In China, graduating from high school without going to college, he spent a few years preparing to establish a school. I asked GROK how he managed to do this, and if you're interested, you can check the picture. I know many people will think that his parents must be impressive and have resources. But I have no intention of delving deeper; I just know that there are countless people with better resources than him who cannot achieve what he has. He is a role model for our generation, worth learning from.
To correct, Chen Guangyu is studying at Huizhou Baisaisi.
The Moonshot School held the "Moonshot 48" high school hackathon in March 2025, where Chen Guangyu won the championship.
