nobody's going to post this. so i will
you're not having a bad week. you're having a bad identity crisis. you built your whole thing around this space and right now this space is performing for the camera while quietly falling apart. and you can feel it. you just don't know if you're allowed to say it
the opportunities you had months ago are gone. the jobs that existed are gone. the people who were hiring are now announcing jobs for engagement and calling it building. nobody's building. everybody's performing. and you're scrolling through it every day wondering what you're supposed to do with that information. wondering if everyone knows something you don't.
then there's ai. and everyone's got an agent. everyone's printing. everyone's figured it out except you. you've tried. you've spent money you didn't have to spend. you followed the tutorials. you built the thing. it didn't work the same way it worked for them. because it never does. because half of it is theater and you're standing in the audience starting to suspect the magician isn't real.
so now you're doing the math in your head. the quiet math. the one you do at 2am. if this doesn't work out, do i even have a fallback? can i go back to a normal job? will those jobs still exist in two years? will any of this infrastructure, the one we built our whole identity on, will it mean anything on the other side of whatever's coming?
and then you zoom out further because the brain won't stop. the wars. the economic collapse that feels closer every quarter. the prices that don't go back down. the ai that's eating industries before you even finish reading about it. the world fragmenting into people who see completely different realities and can't talk to each other anymore. you can feel the ground shifting and nobody's saying it out loud because saying it out loud makes it real.
here's the thing though.
i know this makes it worse. i know this sounds like exactly the wrong advice. but the only move that makes sense right now is to build a smaller world on purpose.
not because the big one doesn't matter. but because you cannot make good decisions inside that noise. you cannot build anything real while holding all of that at once. it's too much. it was always too much. the difference now is it's impossible to pretend it isn't.
pick your bubble deliberately. let it feed you. small circle. real output. specific goals. and quietly, quietly, build a survival strategy. not because the end is coming. but because the version of life we grew up assuming was permanent is clearly disappearing. and the people who accept that first will be the ones who figure out what comes next.
remembr this: you're not behind. you're not broken. you're just holding too much.
put some of it down
