A majority of us Americans lived a life largely sheltered from the world’s worst inconvenient truths. If that were the end of it, great. But it made us soft, and naive. Rather than fight evil, we made excuses for it and fed it and watered it so that evil could grow. If we don’t stop watering the evil, it will consume us.
