🔥🚨BREAKING: Anthropic just used real Claude usage data to map exactly which jobs AI is replacing across 800+ US occupations.
The numbers are brutal.
Computer Programmers: 75% of tasks already covered by AI.
Customer Service Reps: 70%.
Data Entry Keyers: 67%.
But those aren't the scary numbers.
The scary numbers are the gap between what AI CAN do and what it's CURRENTLY doing.
Computer & Math jobs: AI could theoretically handle 94% of tasks. It currently covers 33%.
Office & Admin: theoretically exposed at 90%. Fraction of that in actual use.
That gap isn't safety. It's a delay. Legal constraints, software integration, and company inertia are the only things between "theoretically possible" and "your job is automated."
And it's closing fast.
The workers most exposed aren't who you'd expect. They earn 47% more than unexposed workers. They're more educated. Nearly 4x more likely to hold a graduate degree.
AI isn't coming for factory workers. It's coming for the highest-paid white-collar professionals first.
The one thing holding back mass displacement right now? Hiring freezes instead of layoffs. Young workers aged 22-25 are already seeing a 14% drop in job entry rates for exposed occupations.
They're not getting fired. They're just never getting hired.
Fortune called this a potential "Great Recession for white-collar workers."
