GM 🟧 I’m seeing many controversial posts about @ordzaar’s recent Gallery mint initiative. It looks like many people, including founders, are not aware that anyone can inscribe Gallery - even for the collection that they have created - and we don’t need Ordzaar for that. 🔸@ordzaar simply gathered all the data (JSON files with inscription ids and traits), that have been previously submitted to ME, and is giving us tools to put those on chain. ⚠️ FYI They charge 2,500 sats (~$1.75) platform fee per mint ❗️ Collections are assigned randomly and the larger the collection and the more traits, the larger the file to inscribe and the higher inscription fees ‼️ You can re-roll 5 times 🔗 Link to mint in quoted post below (second post) 🔸 99% of Ordinals “founders” are nowhere to be found, so those Galleries would have never been inscribed, unless some marketplace paid for it and did it themself. But the more likely scenario is that marketplaces would still rely, at least partially, on off-chain JSONs. 🔸 Also, many founders cannot be trusted because we’ve seen items being removed from their collections in the past with marketplace’s help, so community inscribing second gallery to verify the collection is a good thing. 🔸 I’ll be making a list of all inscribed galleries for abandoned collections to make sure that they have the same data that is currently used by marketplaces.
