After I announced it on Feb 23, @Meta has now officially confirmed the new Location Fees: "Meta will soon apply new location fees to ads delivered in specific jurisdictions to cover Digital Service Taxes (DST) and other location-based fees imposed on Meta in those jurisdictions. Location fees will apply beginning July 1, 2026 for the ad accounts under management. What are location fees? Location fees are additional charges that may apply to ads delivered in select jurisdictions to cover part of the costs associated with doing business in those jurisdictions. These fees are determined by the jurisdiction where your audience is located and your ads are delivered (ad impressions), not your business location. Below are the current location fees that may be added to your ad spend after ads are delivered in the following jurisdictions. Current fees: - Austria: 5% - France: 3% - Italy: 3% - Spain: 3% - Türkiye: 5% - United Kingdom: 2% Note: jurisdictions and rates may change over time."
