Today, I convened the Incident Response Group to discuss the ongoing hostilities in Iran and the Middle East and the need to remain vigilant to ensure the safety of all Canadians. Our meeting primarily focused on the efforts being made to protect Canadians in the region and the work being done with partners to promote de-escalation of the conflict. Canada continues to facilitate the movement of Canadians who wish to leave the Middle East and the Gulf region. We will take all possible measures to protect Canadians abroad, including those on diplomatic missions.
