i’m so sick of ppl complaining about ppl reclining their seats on planes. blame the airlines & their billionaire owners, not the person in front of you just trying to ease the pain they’re in bc late stage capitalism forces us all to accept the worst treatment for the highest price we can barely afford.

this is the same energy people have when they complain about immigrants stealing their jobs when AI is the thing that’s truly going to fuck us all in the ass. or complaining about poor people using food stamps to feed their kids while ignoring the billions of dollars we waste on pointless wars & tax relief for the rich. grow up & stop being mad at the people in the same damn boat you’re in. LOOK UP.

here’s a fun fact about the airlines i learned years ago from a friend working in DC. the government was trying to introduce a fee of a few dollars on every flight purchase (negligible for customers) in order to open more terminals and airlines and create more competition (devastating for a powerful monopoly). one of the airline lobbyists was sleeping with the head of the committee and pushing him to kill the bill & was successful. does that sound like free market capitalism? or does that sound like corporatism?

@smegglehead it’s not like these seats recline more than a few inches 😹 i barely notice when the person in front of me does it. i understand for taller people it’s more inconvenient, but tall people also have a social advantage in life so seems fair to me.
